Summary of Position
We are seeking a talented Business Development / Aircraft Management Director to join our Commercial team at TAG Aviation (UK). As a key player in our organisation, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving business growth and expanding our presence in the aviation industry.
The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience and expertise in the aviation sector, coupled with a proven track record of cultivating and nurturing client relationships. With a well-established network of contacts, the Business Development / Aircraft Management Director will be instrumental in identifying new business opportunities, driving revenue growth, and promoting TAG’s market-leading services.
This dynamic role requires a strategic thinker with a flair for innovation and a proactive approach to business development. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients in the aviation sector, exceeding sales targets through targeted and results-driven efforts, and executing strategic growth initiatives to strengthen TAG's position in the market.
Key Responsibilities:
• Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients in the aviation sector, acting as a trusted partner and advocate for TAG’s services.
• Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within aircraft management, strategic partnerships, and target markets. Leverage proven tactics and your network to promote TAG’s offerings and drive revenue growth.
• Strategic Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive strategic plans aligned with company objectives. Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify new trends and opportunities.
• Industry Engagement: Travel frequently to meet with clients, attend industry events, and represent TAG. Deliver presentations to larger audiences and systematically measure ROI from event attendance through CRM Dynamics.
• Sales Performance: Exceed key performance indicators (KPIs) related to business development and client acquisition. Provide regular pipeline updates and progress reports to senior leadership.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct client forecasting and financial modelling to support strategic decision-making and sales activities.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including charter sales, marketing, finance, and operations, ensuring strategic initiatives are aligned and executed effectively.
• Innovation and Best Practices: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing best practices that drive efficiency and reinforce TAG’s position as an industry leader.
• Gravitas and Advocacy: Demonstrate strong presence and the ability to confidently advocate for TAG’s interests in all client and industry engagements.
Job requirements
Annual Objectives
Exceed individual annual target for new aircraft joining TAG fleet and ACM products and services.
Support and execute targeted strategies for client retention and repeat business.
Support contract management throughout the sales and customer service cycle.
Competencies for Business Development / Aircraft Management Director UK & EU
Essential
5–7 years’ experience in business aviation, banking, or a similar UHNW-focused industry.
In-depth knowledge of aircraft management and ownership (minimum 2–3 years).
Proven success in business development within aircraft management or a related field.
Demonstrated history of exceeding sales targets over 3–5 years in a business development capacity.
Strong project management skills, capable of leading multiple sales initiatives concurrently.
Experienced public speaker, with proven success presenting at major industry events and internal briefings.
Expertise in procurement, negotiation, and contract management practices.
High financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
Highly organised, self-driven, and effective both independently and within cross-functional teams.
Desirable
Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree advantageous.
